J ALME Yutronic

Biography

J Alme, Born in Santiago, Chile in 1980, he is a self-taught muralist and painter by trade, with a professional background in design. He began exploring painting in the mid-1990s. He has showcased his work in traditional formats, murals, and graffiti in countries such as Chile,
Bolivia, Brazil, the USA, France, and Germany, among others.

His first solo exhibition took place at the "Museo de Artes Visuales,MAVUT," affiliated with the University of Talca. In 2017, he created one of his most significant murals, "El sueño de volar" ("The Dream of Flying"), at the Cerrillos Metro Station on Line 6. His most notable group exhibitions have been held at the "Sala de Arte CCU," the "Matilha Cultural" culturalcenter (Brazil), the "MuBE Museum" (Brazil), "Nord Art" (Büdelsdorf,Germany), and the "Museo de la Chilenidad MUCH," among others. His work, spanning small and medium formats as well as large-scale murals, focuses on human relationships and family histories he has observed. The concept of memory takes on a central role, as he is fascinated by how the passage of time marks individuals—from the milestones that shape their childhood to those that define their final days.

What he remembers, or thinks he remembers, transforms into fragmentsthat he expresses on surfaces of cold metals like copper, bronze, and steel, or on the warm textures of wood. These contrasting materials evoke distant and fragmented images, where real memories intertwine with imprecise and incomplete narratives, enveloped in mystery and challenging the viewer's capacity to believe in them.
