Rationality is what moves this artist; it pushes him in the development of his art. David José enjoys rational works that offer the viewer more than one look, that allows people to find more than one conclusion. For example, his gradient canvas can darken or lighten, depending on who is looking at it. In sculptures that change color, the final color will also depend on the focus and on the gaze of the viewer. In works with waves, the same thing happens oscillating between darkness and light or going up and down. In his art, José offers two different options to those who see his work because that is life - nothing is very concrete and definitive.

He believes that there is always an alternative, a breath of fresh air. "If we decide to look differently, if we decide to change the focus, we have that option - you just need to want it."
